Dartmouth dancers

Dining out may lead to dancing for eighth-graders at Dartmouth Middle School. Every Monday night in April, the Cup & Saucer Family Restaurant in Princeton Plaza Mall will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from take-out or dine-in orders to Dartmouth's eighth-grade graduation dance. The offer is good for customers who mention Dartmouth's name between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the appointed days. The mall is located at 1375 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose. Branham seeks
spirited students

Graduating eighth-graders in the Union School District who want to get into the spirit of things as freshmen at Branham High School next fall can attend an informational meeting about Branham's cheer and dance squads. The meeting is set for April 6 at 6 p.m. in Branham's library. Tryouts for both squads are set for April 22­23, following clinics on April 19­21. KTVU/Fox to honor
Graystone teacher

Graystone Elementary School families will soon be seeing a familiar face delivering a public-service announcement on KTVU/Fox. Erika Gordon, a second-grade teacher at Graystone, received the "Best Educators Award" from the local television station in conjunction with Sylvan Learning Centers. Beginning in May, Gordon will be featured in the station's public-service announcements along with other award winners.

Music instructor
positions available

Graystone Elementary School needs second- and third-grade music teachers to replace the outgoing Colleen Hirano next fall. The school is looking either for one teacher to head up the music programs at both grade levels or two teachers to split the job. For more information, call 408.535.6317.

Dartmouth puts its
best foot forward

Students at Dartmouth Middle School hope to pull off an amazing feat and collect 4,000 pairs of shoes to ship to sole-less folks around the world. All athletic shoes will be donated to Church Sports International for distribution in other countries. All other varieties of footwear will be donated to various places around the Bay Area. Those interested in donating their gently used shoes to the cause can call Mrs. Carey at 408.264.1122.

Graystone's mutually
agreeable fundraiser

Washington Mutual customers who use their debit cards as Visas can earn points for Graystone Elementary School with every purchase they make before April 30. Graystone will receive a percentage of these purchases and can use the money as the school best sees fit, be it for books, facilities repairs or a special event.
