No secret plans on
soccer fields, please

Let me start by saying I was a major supporter of Nancy Pyle during her campaign and was instrumental in securing a number of votes for her.

I am one of the citizens who are very interested in the sports field decision. A recent article in the Almaden Resident ("The New District 10," April 14) Pyle said she was "keeping the other piece of her sports fields solution a secret at this time, but she says, 'It'll make everyone happy.' "

Public officials having secrets is very much against the open communication Pyle espoused during her first 100 days in office. I can't imagine a need to keep things secret from the very people who she represents.

Pyle should come forth with the rest of the plan and remove the growing suspicion in the minds of her supporters.

DeCinzo cartoon on Dando mean-spirited

I am writing to express my displeasure with Mr. DeCinzo's cartoon in the April14 edition of the Almaden Resident. I find the personal attack on our former District 10 councilwoman, Pat Dando, to be mean-spirited and in poor taste.

It is no wonder that the majority of citizens are unwilling to seek public office, with the unrealistic perfectionist requirements placed on those in public office. Add to that the demeaning sexist attitude as shown in your editorial cartoon is beyond acceptability. You have an obligation to the citizenry of Almaden Valley to have your publication be a venue for truth and balanced reporting, not personal bashing.

I suggest you stick to reporting on issues pertinent to the citizens of Almaden Valley and refrain from the unnecessary personal attacks on our public servants. It demeans your publication, your staff and all of us who call Almaden Valley home.
