Police Blotter
Kick the Can--Dec. 10, 6:30 p.m. An unknown suspect who was driving a red Honda followed another driver to Campbell and confronted him, kicking his car and leaving it dented.
Why Indeed--Dec. 11, 4:45 p.m. A 36-year-old Union Avenue resident's Chevrolet had all four of its tires slashed and "Why!" was also scratched into the driver's door.
Hate Crime--Dec. 12, 3:30 p.m. A 33-year-old man was booked into jail after he confronted a culturally mixed couple at a public swimming pool on Campbell Avenue. The suspect threatened the couple with his pocketknife and used racial slurs. After he left the area, the couple alerted police. The suspect was later located in front of a store on Winchester Avenue and arrested.
Minor Citations--Dec. 13, 3:30 p.m. Two 17-year-olds were cited and released to their parents after they were caught stealing beer and other items from a drugstore on Winchester Avenue.
Checkpoint--Dec. 15, 1:30 a.m. Two San Jose residents, ages 25 and 27, and one Campbell resident, 39, were arrested at an alcohol checkpoint set up by police on Bascom Avenue near Campisi Drive.
Ravaged Car--Dec. 16, 9 a.m. An unknown suspect scratched the entire surface of a white 1995 Acura Integra that was parked near Sobrato and Beta courts. The car's seats were also cut and a compact disc changer, speakers and the stereo in the dash were stolen.
Husband Beating--Dec. 17, 4:50 a.m. A 24-year-old woman was booked into jail for spousal abuse after she struck her husband in the face, causing minor scratches.
Recovered Vehicle--Dec. 20, 6:36 p.m. Police found a brown 1984 Mazda abandoned and smoking in the intersection of Central and David avenues. Witnesses reported seeing a Hispanic male running from the car. Police determined the vehicle had been stolen out of San Jose the same day.
A Biting Chance--Dec. 21, 1:52 a.m. A woman was booked into jail after she bit another woman while the victim was talking on the phone.
Accident--Dec. 21, 9:58 p.m. A passing motorist hit a pedestrian as she was jaywalking in the intersection of Campbell Avenue and San Tomas Aquino Road. She sustained a minor facial contusion and was transported to the hospital.
