    Rugby team needs players this season

    The King's Head Marauders, a social rugby club based in Campbell, are looking for players for the coming season. Team members come from all over the greater San Jose area and are of all ages and experience levels.

    Club members practice each Sunday at John D. Morgan Park and meet each Wednesday evening at the King's Head, both in Campbell.

    Little League signups for baseball

    Local Little Leagues are currently holding registration for the upcoming baseball season. Players ages 5-12 are eligible, with divisions ranging from T-ball (for those youngsters who reach age 5 by July 31) to the major division (for those players not older than 12).

    At registrations, players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, provide a birth certificate and reside within league boundaries. Proof of residency may be required.

    Local leagues holding signups this month include:

    Campbell Little League-- Sign-ups for players to age 12 will be held Saturdays, Jan. 12, 19 and 26, 9 a.m.-noon; Thursdays, through Jan. 31, 7:30-8:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, Jan. 9, 6-8 p.m. at the Holman Field Clubhouse located at Rosemary School off Hamilton Avenue on Millich Drive (between San Tomas Expressway and Winchester).     Moreland Little League-- Sign-ups to age 14 Wednesday, Jan. 9, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Round Table Pizza Parlor, Moorpark and Saratoga Avenue. For more information, contact Deb Triggas (408.374.6672).

    Girls Softball

    West Valley PAL Girls Softball will hold signups for the 2002 season on Jan. 9, 6:30-9 p.m., and Jan. 12, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., in the cafeteria at Bagby School, corner of Leigh and Curtner in San Jose.

    The recreational league is open to girls ages 5-16. First time players must provide a birth certificate. For more information, call 408.377.1960.
