Church holds seminar
The First Congregational Church plans to hold a seminar on natural medicine and cancer at 7 p.m., Jan. 21 at 1980 Hamilton Ave., San Jose. Dr. Sylver Quevedo, director of the Center for Integrative Medicines in San Jose, will be the main speaker at the event and plans to speak on the quality of life and disease reversal in chronic illness. Other topics include the phenomenology of healing and the intersection of spirituality and medicine. There is no cost. For more information, call 408.448.4094.
School Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2002-03 school year began Jan. 8. Students who were born on or before Dec. 2, 1997 are eligible to begin kindergarten in September. The four elementary schools in the Cambrian School District are Bagby School, Fammatre School, Farnham School and Sartorette School. To register, parents must present their children's immunization records to date, birth certificate and two forms of proof of residency. Registration packets are available at each school. Children need not be present to register. Questions can be directed to Cambrian School District Office, 408.377.2103, ext. 100.
Center hosts workshop
The Campbell Adult Center will host a privacy protection workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Jan. 26 at 1 W. Campbell Ave. in room 80. The Office of Privacy Protection will help those who attend the workshop understand how to opt out of having personal financial information shared with outside companies and reduce preapproved credit card offers and telemarketing calls.
