    Crab feed benefits students

    By Gloria I. Wang

On Jan. 27, the Country Woman's Club of Campbell will hold its annual Crab and Pasta Feed fundraiser.

The dinner consists of crab, wine, salad, bread, dessert and pasta prepared by gourmet cooks.

Held at the Orchard City Hall at the Campbell Community Center, this year's proceeds will fund the Heritage Theatre restoration project and scholarships for Campbell high school students.

Local businesses help out by donating or subsidizing materials. Cosentino's Market contributes food.

The Country Woman's Club is a 95-year-old nonprofit organization that started Campbell's first library and first museum. This year's crab and pasta feed is the club's fifth such event. Club members come from Campbell and surrounding communities, such as Los Gatos, Willow Glen and Cupertino.

The crab and pasta feed has proven to be a popular event. The 280 tickets available were sold out in two weeks, according to event chair Trish Forsman.

Past and present city officials are involved; Forsman says that Mayor Matthew Dean is supervising the servers this year.

The tickets, priced at $30, combined with auction and basket sales revenue, are expected to raise a net profit of around $9,000, slightly higher than last year's revenue of $8,100. The event is sold out.
