    EDD Job Fair 2002

    The Employment Development Department, 2450 South Bascom Ave., will hold an open house job fair on Feb. 7 from 1-4 p.m. Employers from more than a dozen companies will be available in the EDD lobby to answer questions, take resumes, and speak with perspective job seekers. Companies at the job fair will be looking to fill managerial, administrative and high-tech positions.

    LG Creek Meeting

    The city of Campbell and the County of Santa Clara Parks is holding a joint meeting on Feb. 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Campbell Community Center in room E-42, 1 W. Campbell Ave.

    This is the first in a series of meetings for the community to discuss and offer input on a new master plan for the Los Gatos Creek County Park.

    Citizens are being asked to give input on how they would like to see the open space improved with off-leash dog runs, boating on the ponds and to list concerns about wildlife protection.

    STNA Meetings

    The San Tomas Neighborhood Association will meet 7-9 p.m., Feb. 4, at Capri School Auditorium, 850 Chapman Drive.

    The meeting will include a garden and compose discussion and demonstration by master composer Ellen Finch.

    In other news, the association has elected the following new board members to serve two-year terms: Susanne Waher will serve as president, Karen Sweetland as vice president, Carolyn Workover as secretary, Steve Schnur as Treasurer, and Curt Keegan as member at large.

    Project Match Home

    Five low-income seniors will have an affordable place to live when the nonprofit organization Project Match opens a remodeled, single-family home in Campbell.

    An open house was held Jan. 25, at 2011 Pollard Rd., to meet with new and current senior residents in the Project match program.

    The Campbell Redevelopment Agency donated the Pollard Road house to Project Match in March. The program raised $200,000 to rehabilitate the structure.

    The average age of seniors in the program is 73, and the average monthly income is $1,200.

    Each senior has a private bedroom and shares the common areas of the house. project Match began in the 1980s and manages 37 units of affordable housing for seniors in the South Bay. For more information, contact 408.287.7121.
