    Book Ban

The Campbell Union High School District has removed Westmont High School English teacher and author Richard Ferri's novel 'Blossom River Drive' from the approved reading list

A controversial book written by a Westmont High School English teacher has been censored by education officials from the Campbell Union High School District. Members of the CUHSD Board of Education banned Richard Ferri's book Blossom River Drive after a student's parents called the book "pornographic." Ferri introduced his novel into his sophomore and junior English classes in the spring of 2000 as an alternative to other texts students could also read--Animal Farm by George Orwell and The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.   More
