Troy, Fran and Sid Rampy, owners of the Ace Kirkwood Hardware Store, have built a near-legendary reputation in Campbell and beyond because of their philosophy of personalized service. At Kirkwood--the largest independent hardware store in Santa Clara County that is also family owned, according to Fran--employees in red vests readily answer questions and lead customers by hand to their desired destinations. But despite the thriving business supported by locals and those who flock to Campbell in search of that hard-to-find widget, the Rampys will be closing the store sometime before June.   More
