Campbell is also known for two real estate centers

    By Michelle C. Crowe

Sometimes referred to as a bedroom community as well as a commuter's dream, Campbell also boasts two surprising power centers that influence real estate throughout Santa Clara County, R.E. InfoLink (REIL) and ELS-MLS.

While most potential homebuyers are familiar with the ubiquitous MLS (multiple listing service) of the Willow Glen-based Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, most don't realize that Internet access to that prime database of residential properties for sale (www.mlslistings.com) is powered by Campbell-based R.E. InfoLink.

Located in suite 100 at 300 Orchard City Drive, REIL is the online key to virtually all residential property information in the county's cities. Realtors are required to subscribe to the service to access new listings and sales, as well as sold properties to determine the current price and value of local properties.

REIL also educates local Realtors at a variety of free and $35 classes that cover beginning through advanced uses of the service, as well as additional specialized software such as HomeWorks and CMAPro. For those seeking properties outside of Santa Clara County, the site also furnishes information on homes in Contra Costa, San Francisco and other counties.

On the commercial side, ELS-MLS Commercial Property Listing Service (www.els-mls.com) performs a similar multiple listing service for commercial properties, although the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors does not require commercial agents to use the service, as it does with REIL. (ELS-MLS stands for Electronic Listing Service-Multiple Listing Service).

With its office located in suite K-60 at the Campbell Community Center at 1 Campbell Ave., ELS-MLS is also an important service connecting property seekers, commercial agents and owners with information on available office and industrial space throughout Alameda, Contra Costa and Santa Clara counties.

Agents can also elect to purchase an "email flyer" on properties they represent, which can be sent to more than 900 other agents for $99.

For more information on R.E. InfoLink, call 800.LINK MLS (800.546.5657) or 408.874.0200, and for more information on ELS-MLS, call 408.871.1000.
