    Warriors lose

    Katherine Bamford and Michelle Salmiery ripped two hits apiece, but the Westmont girls softball team dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker to Leigh in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League last week.

    Freshman Allyson Carrothers threw a cool four-hitter, but the Longhorns made them good for single runs in the first and second. Westmont could only answer with a run in the seventh.

    Westmont, 2-2 in the division and 8-6 for the year, will host Santa Teresa on April 10, 3:30 p.m., before heading to the Watsonville Tournament on April 13.

    Soccer Camp

    Jorge Espinoza, formerly of the San Jose Clash and the New England Revolution, is in the area to host a series of spring soccer camps for youth soccer players ages 6-16.

    The final two camps are slated for April 15-19 and April 22-26 at the Campbell Community Center field. Sessions will be held 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. The cost is $100 per player, per session.

    Pony-Colt Baseball

    Campbell Pony-Colt Baseball will host sign-ups for the 2002 Colt League (ages 15-16) season Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m., through April at John D. Morgan Park. The league will hold tryouts on May 4, 9:30 a.m., at the field at Campbell Community Center. Managers and coaches are also needed for the summer season.

    Baseball Camp

    Santa Clara University will hold a youth baseball camp for Little League- age players April 16-18. The camp will cover hitting, pitching and defense. The cost for the camp, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon, is $100. For more information, call 650.207.8665.

    Annual Run

    The 12th annual LSI Logic Class Run 10K run and 5K run/walk will be held April 14, 9 a.m., at 1501 McCarthy Blvd. in Milpitas. The registration fee is $25 on race day.     Campbell Volleyball

    The city of Campbell offers drop-in volleyball programs for teenagers and adults in the auxiliary gym at 1 W. Campbell Ave.

    Drop-in volleyball is offered for teens ages 13-18 on Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m., and for adults on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
