The best track and field athletes in the Central Coast Section (CCS) were there, and Ashley Mamola of Westmont and Trevor Rogers managed to finish among the best of the best at the CCS Top 8 meet held Friday night at Los Gatos High School.
"This is really a CCS preview meet," said meet director Willie Harmatz of the Top 8 event. "It was a great meet, and we had a big crowd."
Mamola had a big night in the girls division, placing in a pair of events for the Warriors.
Mamola raced to a fourth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in 48.14, and she added a fifth in the 100 hurdles in 16.01.
