Kids are all right
I am an active member in the Chemical Free Zone security. For the past 2 1/2 years I have watched TCFZ prosper and achieve its purpose of building bridges with youth under the compassionate guidance of Cheryl and Terry Johnson. There has never been any unacceptable behavior in TCFZ until recent times, and then only by a few bad seeds. TCFZ security deals with any situation that comes up with caring, understanding and competence, and not as the police, certain members of the city of Campbell, and the Community Center would have you believe.
Due to the reckless acts of one juvenile, the mosh pit has been suppressed. The above groups' concept of a mosh pit is one of violence and immorality. Let me assure you it is the farthest thing from it. The mosh pit is well regulated to prevent such things and to allow youth to have fun and to express themselves. As a matter of fact, people in the mosh pit help anyone who has fallen down.
I urge one and all who are concerned about the only youth-oriented activity in the city of Campbell to send letters, emails and phone calls to the mayor and the chief of police, to voice their concern in a non-violent and peaceful manner.
