Piraro heads up baseball camps
San Jose State University baseball coach Sam Piraro will head up the annual SJSU summer baseball camps for players ages 6-17 again this summer.
Sessions include comprehensive camps on June 25-29 and July 16-20, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day, for players ages 6-16. The cost is $99 per player.
Specialty camps are slated for July 23-27 (pitching camp for ages 9-12, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; hitting camp for ages 12-17, 2-4 p.m.) and July 30-Aug. 3 (pitching camp for ages 13-17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; hitting camp for ages 12-17, 2-4 p.m.). The cost is $125 per player (both sessions $200).
Piraro is the camp director and will be assisted by SJSU assistant coaches Doug Thurman and Dean Madsen, as well as local high school and junior college coaches.

Santa Clara Baseball School
The annual Santa Clara Baseball School returns to Santa Clara University this summer under the direction of Mike Cummins and Lou Lucas.
Sessions for players ages 9-16 will be held on June 25-29, July 9-13 and July 23-27. Instruction in basic fundamentals and hitting runs 9 a.m.-noon, and the cost is $130 per player. The pitching only clinics run 1-2:30 p.m. and the cost is $75 per player.

Pole Vault Clinic
A five-week pole vault clinic will be held June 25-July 27 at Los Gatos High School. Del Mar coach Bob Slover, an expert in the event, will host the clinic. For more information, call 408.268.0140.
Field Hockey Camp
A beginning field hockey camp for girls in grades 6-9 will be held June 26-28, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Del Mar High School. The cost is $35 per player and equipment will be provided. For more information, call 408.264.2373.
Volleyball Camps
The Vision Volleyball Club will host indoor and beach volleyball camps for girls this summer.
Indoor camps will be held July 23-26 at West Valley College for girls in grades 5-9, and Aug. 6-9 at Los Gatos for girls in grades 9-12.
Beach camps will be held at West Valley College on July 30-Aug. 1, for girls in grades 5-9, and for girls in high school and college.
