JoJo the dolphin and Dean Bernal

    The JoJo Dolphin Project

Campbell native Dean Bernal and JoJo the dolphin test the boundaries of human and animal friendship

Dean Bernal swims as effortlessly as the dolphin he's shadowing. Wearing a scuba mask, a Speedo suit and slippers, Bernal is graceful and playful, floating in circles underwater and blowing bubble rings. The bubbles are Bernal's standard greeting for JoJo, a male bottlenose dolphin that he's maintained a relationship with for 15 years. Their unique pairing--one of the rarest in the world--is documented in a new IMAX film called "Dolphins," now playing at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose.   More
