    House gets demolished


    Eminent Domain

    Several businesses feel nervous about Campbell's redevelopment plans


    Paul Werthmann stood on the sidewalk on June 27 with tears in his eyes and watched a demolition crew bulldoze his childhood home. It was a long battle, but in the end the city won after acquiring Werthmann's property through eminent domain last November, a process that allowed the redevelopment agency to legally obtain the three buildings, which were located on the corner of Campbell Avenue and Second Street.   More
