    Campbell's GraphOn merges, goes public

No one driving past GraphOn's unassuming warehouse at 150 Harrison St. would guess it was a multimillion-dollar business. But it is, and the dollars are anticipated to keep on rolling in with the merger of GraphOn and Unity First Acquisition Corporation last Monday. Founded in 1982 by husband-and-wife team Walt Keller, now president and CEO of the newly named GraphOn Corporation, and Robin Ford, executive vice-president, GraphOn also went public with the announcement of the merger.

GraphOn provides thin connectivity software for clients that include IBM, Sun Microsystems and the Monterey County Board of Education.

"Going public gives us the ability to really grow in terms of marketing and sales," said Ford, whose company grew from a team of six employees in 1997 to 50 today. "We're really happy; it was a successful merger."

Park still not open, but parking lot is

Campbellites and visiting recreationists will soon have access to the Los Gatos Creek Trail with the recent opening of the Campbell Park parking lot. According to city senior civil engineer and Campbell Park project manager Dave Thompson, the newly paved and striped lot will have approximately 60 spaces. A three-hour time limit will be enforced at the lot, which is located on the corner of Campbell and Gilman avenues. Campbell Park must undergo several phases before it re-opens in the fall, including installation of play equipment, planting, electricity and an irrigation system.
