    Over 45 basketball

    San Jose is accepting registration for teams interested in playing in a fall basketball league for players ages 45 and over. For more information, call 277-5556.

    Frog Jog

    The Frog Jog 10K run and 5K run/walk will be held Aug. 8,
    9 a.m., at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The entry fee is $20. For more information on the event, check the Frog Jog website at www.frogjog.org or call 733-7931.

    Tennis tourney

    A tennis tournament for players in the 12-and-under, 14-and-under, 16-and-under and 18-and-under age groups will be held Aug. 7 at San Jose State University. The cost for the round-robin tournament is $12 per player. For more information, call 924-1249.

    Youth ice hockey
    holds tryouts

    The Santa Clara Valley Hockey Association Blackhawks have announced that tryouts will begin Aug. 6 for players ages 6-18. For more information, check their Web site at www.blackhawks.org or call 450-2888.

    Girls basketball

    A girls three-on-three basketball tournament for players in grades 6-12 will be held Aug. 14-15 at Stanford University. The entry fee is $175, and each team is guaranteed eight games. For more information, call 1-650-725-7193.

    All-comers meets

    The Los Gatos All-Comers track and field meets will be held each Thursday through Aug. 12 at the high school track. The entry fee is $3 for unlimited events in the open, high school boys', women's, girls' and master men's divisions.

    The pole vault event begins at 5 p.m., with other field events (long jump, shot put, high jump, triple jump and discus) beginning at 5:30 p.m. Track events begin at 6 p.m.

    The fee for spectators is $2.

    Coaches needed
    for fall season

    The Central Valley Youth Soccer League needs coaches for the under-10 and under-14 boys recreational level teams for the fall season. For more information, call Greg Pinelli at 266-5899 or 267-0740.
