Police Blotter
Alias Smith--or Jones--Aug. 18, 8:30 a.m. A man was booked after giving several false names to police and having a $50,000 warrant out for possession and sales. The suspect was attempting to leave a residence on West Valley Drive when police arrived. He was also under the influence of a controlled substance.
Bus-ted--Aug. 17, 10:36 p.m. A 17-year-old San Jose teen was sent to Juvenile Hall after he tore down a bus sign and took it with him in the area of Samaritan Drive. He was reportedly upset because the bus was late by two hours.
Sock It To Me--Aug. 16, 9:46 p.m. While stopping a San Jose man on San Tomas Aquino Road and Hamilton Avenue, a police officer observed the suspect trying to conceal something in his sock. A subsequent search revealed methamphetamine, and the suspect was booked.
Don't Fence Me In--Aug. 16, 8:57 p.m. Police responded to a home on Fawn Court, where a 16-year-old boy "became enraged for no apparent reason" and started hitting his father. The father tried to restrain his son until police arrived, but the teen fled. Police caught him as he was attempting to climb the backyard fence.
Dad, Can I Borrow the Car?--Aug. 16, 2 p.m. A resident on Hollis Avenue informed police that his 29-year-old son entered his house and took the keys to his 1995 Nissan pickup with a green camper shell. It has yet to be returned.
Football Follies--Aug. 16, 11:30 a.m. Police responded to a residence at Beta Court, where two boys were having an argument over a football game. The suspect, 13, had pushed the 9-year-old victim down and punched him. The suspect was cited and released to his parents.
