    Deadline approaching

The deadline for voters who wish to request absentee ballots is Oct. 31. Any registered voter can vote by mail. There are two ways to request a ballot. A voter can complete an absentee ballot application, which is included with the sample ballot that was mailed to every registered voter. The other choice is to send a written request to the registrar of voters located in the county where the voter is registered. The voter must print his or her name and residence address, the address to which the absentee ballot should be sent, and the name and date of the election for which the absentee ballot is requested. The request must also include a signature. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 31. Absentee ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. on Nov. 7 to be counted.
