Police Blotter
Cat Scratch--Oct. 7, 7:05 p.m. A man was scratched and bitten by a stray cat he was trying to catch on N. Third Street. The female cat and a kitten were taken to the Humane Society.
What a Kick--Oct. 7, 11:34 p.m. A 43-year-old Wilton Drive resident reported that a 37-year-old woman he lives with came home and kicked him in the legs several times. She denied it, and the case was sent to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.
Car Thief--Oct. 8, 2:04 a.m. A 20-year-old man was booked into jail after an officer observed him driving a stolen vehicle on Nido Drive. The suspect attempted to flee first in the car and then on foot. The officer caught him and discovered he'd tampered with and stolen items from 11 vehicles on Nido Drive and Hollis Avenue.
Suspected Drugs--Oct. 12, 10:05 a.m. An officer came into contact with a 29-year-old Saratoga man who was sitting in his car in Campbell Plaza on Winchester Avenue. After a brief conversation, the officer found a baggie with what he believed was methamphetamine in the man's car. The case was sent to the District Attorney's office.
Striking Distance--Oct. 12, 6:50 p.m. A 40-year-old man was booked into jail for striking a 31-year-old woman he lives with on Hollis Avenue. Both the victim and suspect were determined to be intoxicated.
Attempted Entry--Oct. 13, 9 a.m. an unknown suspect knocked over a vending machine and attempted to gain entry to a business on Hamilton Avenue by cutting the security bar bolts but was unable to do so.
Watered Down--Oct. 13, 6:30 p.m. A 63-year-old man reported that a 33-year-old man poured water on him after the two argued over a parking spot on S. Bascom Avenue.
Girl Fight--Oct. 14, 2:21 p.m. Police were called when a mother and daughter got into a fight at their Railway Avenue residence. The 16-year-old daughter started the physical fight by hitting her 44-year-old mother with a pair of pants, after which the mother began slapping her daughter, which resulted in mutual hitting and hair pulling.
Deceased Resident--Oct. 14, 7:01 p.m. A Union Avenue man discovered his roommate dead in the passenger seat of his vehicle. Bottles of alcohol and pills were found near the vehicle, and the death is suspected to be a suicide.
