Police Blotter
Airborne Pumpkin--Oct. 25. Sometime during the day, an unknown suspect threw a pumpkin through the rear window of a San Jose resident's 1989 Cadillac, completely shattering the glass.
Squash-napping--Oct. 22, 12:46 a.m. An intoxicated suspect and his friend were cited for theft after stealing a pumpkin from a home.
Holy Watering--Oct. 20, 10 p.m.-7:30 a.m. Sometime in the night, an unknown suspect inserted a running garden hose into the mail slot of the First Methodist Church's office on S. Winchester Boulevard. When employees arrived in the morning, they were greeted by one inch of standing water on the floor.
Plant Attack--Oct. 20, 5 p.m.-7 a.m. A resident on Nido Drive awoke to find potted plants on the porch knocked over. All four tires on the resident's car were also slashed. The victim accused a neighbor, who denied any involvement in the crime.
Not Quite a Good Samaritan--Oct. 20, 9:10 a.m. A San Jose resident riding his bike eastbound on Hamilton Avenue collided with a red Plymouth. The motorist stopped to ask if the cyclist was okay, but left the scene. The victim reportedly had minor injuries to his chest and leg.
Road Warriors--Oct. 19, 9 p.m. Two motorists in separate cars got into a verbal argument. The suspect, from Cupertino, threw a Coke can, hitting the Sunnyvale victim in the face. The victim then chased the suspect to Hamilton Avenue and Dunster Drive, where the suspect stopped, exited his car and threatened the victim with a baseball bat. Victim called 911 and the suspect fled. The suspect was later identified by a police officer, and the case was sent to the district attorney's office.
