    Dinner planned for missing woman

    On Nov. 13, Campbell restaurant Capers Eat & Drink will hold a dinner honoring missing Los Gatos resident Jeanine Sanchez Harms. The dinner, which will run from 6 to 8 p.m., is one of several periodic events meant to maintain public awareness of her case.

    Harms lived on Chirco Drive from April until her disappearance on July 27. The police investigation is ongoing. Capers is located at 1710 W. Campbell Ave., in the Kirkwood Shopping Center.

    Holiday crafts fair coming up

    The Campbell Recreation and Community Services departments plan to hold their annual Holiday Crafts Faire from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 10 in the Banquet Hall in the Campbell Community Center, 1 W. Campbell Ave. More than 50 craft booths will be on hand for residents who are eager to start the holiday shopping season.

    Also at the Community Center, the Campbell Adult Center, beginning Nov. 26, will be collecting unwrapped new toys and stuffed animals for Toys for Tots. Donations of gift certificates for music, movies and other forms of entertainment are also welcome because they can be given to older children. The Adult Center will also set up a bin for non-perishable food items, which it is collecting for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Both bins will be in the center lobby of the Adult Center.     Veteran's Fair in San Jose

    The third annual Veteran's Resource Fair is planned for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 9 at the National Guard Armory, 251 W. Hedding St. in San Jose.

    Booths featuring benefits for veterans and their dependents, healthcare services, medicare benefits, Social Security benefits, college fee waivers and more will be on hand to answer all questions. For more information, contact Victor Garza at 408.553.6008 or Robert Caballero at 831.636.5192.

    Workshop for parents offered

    Social Advocates for Youth is offering a five-part parenting skills workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, starting Nov. 7, at the Camden Teen Center, 3369 Union Ave. in San Jose.

    Topics will include positive communication, clear limit setting, stress and anger management and others. The workshop is free of charge and is being given in conjunction with the Santa Clara County Probation and San Jose's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services departments.
