    Riverdance

    Innovative Irish performance group makes its South Bay debut at the Flint Center


    Riverdance--The Show, which grew out of a dance number performed on European television, tells the story of Irish history and dance in the abstract, mixing its own step-dancing with other folk forms, like African American tap, Russian folk, Spanish flamenco and others, telling the story with dance numbers and songs accompanied by traditional Irish instruments like the fiddle, Uillean pipes, bodhrán and tin whistle. The Los Angeles Times called it "Ireland, the musical."   More
