Ainsley House opens doors for Enchanted Holidays

    By Melissa Matchak

The Ainsley House in Campbell will be transformed into a holiday wonderland as the Enchanted Holidays theme becomes reality on Nov. 24 through Dec. 17.

For the seventh year in a row, the 1925 Tudor house will be decorated by interior designers, home decorators, florists and other volunteers, including the West Valley College Interior Design Club.

Volunteer decorators have the opportunity to choose how they decorate a room, but the holiday theme remains throughout the house.

Holiday Tea and Tours are scheduled for Dec. 1, 4, 5 and 6, at 2 p.m. for $18. Tea, Tour and Vintage Fashion Show are scheduled for Dec. 2 and 3, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for $30. A Holiday Boutique will offer a variety of unique gifts, including Christmas ornaments, toys and tea items.

On Dec. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., a holiday open house will be held. A docent will be in each room, but visitors will be able to take their own tours of the house. Cost is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Teas are available by reservation only by calling 408.374.7688. The Ainsley House is located at 300 Grant St. in the Civic Center area. After Dec. 17, the Ainsley House will be closed until Mar. 1, as it is every year, for renovations.

Regular guided tours of the Ainsley House are held Thursday through Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $2.50 for youth and $4 for seniors. For directions and additional information, call 408.866.2118.
