    Tenants, landlords upset by rezoning

I did read your fine article regarding the rezoning of areas in Campbell. It was interesting that the McGlincey area was removed from the commission's proposal.

The area of Dell Avenue, Sunnyoaks Avenue and Florence Way is up in arms over the proposal. I am a tenant in the area, and the tenants and landlords are quite upset.

The reason for me contacting you is that there are some very interesting stories regarding the people who developed this area. It has a background that reaches to the early 1950s. Landowners took a chance and now their children are grown and have assumed the helm, so to speak.

It has always (from the '50s) been a place where small businesses could start up and either grow or fail. Many owners have been here for decades.

In talking with owners and tenants, you will find that they just wish to be left alone. They don't ask for anything from the city and they did not ask for rezoning.

Thanks for the article. We hope the council does not rezone this area. We like it.
