    Softball Tryouts

    The Strikkers have scheduled tryouts for girls softball teams in three different age groups:

    * The Original Strikkers will hold tryouts for a girls 16-and-under summer travel team on Dec. 3 at San Jose City College. Pitchers and catchers should report at 10 a.m. with all others to report at 11 a.m. For more information, call 408.296.2212 or email tjoyner@worldnet.att.net.

    * The Strikkers will hold tryouts for girls 14-and-under on Nov. 19 and 26 at Willow Glen High School. Pitchers and catchers should report at 11 a.m. with all others to report at noon. For more information, call Mike McKenzie at 408.259.2924 or 408.639.7043.

    * Tryouts for a girls 14-and-under summer travel team will be held Dec. 2 at Presentation High School. Pitchers and catchers should report at 11 a.m. with all others to report at noon. For more information, call Dana Timbrook at 408.395.2649 or email dana@communities.com.

    * The Strikkers 12-and-under spring and summer traveling team will hold tryouts on Dec. 2 and 3, 2:30-5 p.m., at Pioneer High School. For more information, call Mike Quint at 408.997.2758 or Marty Satalina at 408.629.5724.

    Quicksilver Volleyball

    The Quicksilver Volleyball Club will hold tryouts for its age group teams (ranging from 12 to 18).

    Tryouts will be held on Nov. 19 at Oak Grove High School at the following times: ages 12, 13 and 14-- 9-11 a.m.; 15 and 16-- noon-2 p.m.; and ages 17 and 18-- 3-5 p.m.

    Players should arrive early to sign forms and bring their own knee pads. The tryout fee is $20.

    Masters Swimming

    The West Valley Swim Club hosts its master program and lap swimming at the Saratoga High School pool, Monday through Friday, 6-7:30 a.m. and 6-7:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 7-8:30 a.m.

    Swimmers must register with Pacific Masters Swimming. The fee is $5 per swim, $50 for a 20-swim card or $40 per month.
