    When doctors held out no hope for her brain-injured son, Beverly Vais took their words as a challenge


    The story of Services for Brain Injured (SBI) and how Beverly Vais learned to be, by her own definition, "a loud mouth," starts 20 years ago. It was then that Vais, a resident of Monte Sereno, found herself racing down the street in her bare feet wearing her bathrobe.
