    2001 review reveals vibrant community


    Campbell continued its growth and evolution into a respected city in Santa Clara Valley. Changes in transportation services highlighted the year with light rail planned for the Vasona line into the downtown area. The city also dealt with the strange disappearance of a Los Gatos woman with strong city ties. Jeanine Sanchez Harms was last seen July 30 at the Pruneyard Shopping Center. And after a slowdown in the economy and the dot-com crash, several Campbell businesses--the Gaslighter Theater, McWhorter's Stationers, Webvan and DeVries Data Systems Inc.--were forced to close their doors.   More
