Quito fall ball

The Quito Little League will hold final registration for the 2003 fall ball season on Aug. 23, 9­11:30 a.m., at the league's major division field at Rolling Hills Middle School. The season runs from Sept. 14 through Nov. 16 with games on Sunday afternoon in the major and minor divisions. The cost is $50 per player, and youngsters must provide a copy of their birth certificate at the registration. For more information, call 408.374.3154.


Strikkers tryouts

The Strikkers girls' fast pitch softball team will be hosting fall tryouts at Oak Grove High School for its four age divisions: 18 and under, 16 and under, 14 and under and 12 and under.

The 18U and 16U tryouts will be held on Aug. 24. Pitchers and catchers for the 18U division should report at 9 a.m. and position players should arrive at noon. For the 16U division, pitchers and catchers should report at 10:30 a.m. and position players at noon.

The 14U and 12U tryouts will be on Aug. 23. Pitchers and catchers for both age groups should report at 2 p.m. All Position players should arrive at 3 p.m.

Junior golf

Junior Achievement's 14th annual Golf Classic is slated for Sept. 22 at the Silver Creek Valley Country Club. The event, sponsored by FedEx Freight, will offer a full day of food, fun and prizes beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending after 7 p.m.

The Junior Achievement Golf Classic Tournament package includes the golfing fee, golf cart, barbecue lunch, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and awards. Golfers will be awarded for low net scores and low gross scores.
