Windermere donates to several nonprofits
Sales associates and staff with Windermere Real Estate's Silicon Valley Properties offices teamed up with the Windermere Foundation to donate $11,000 to various Bay Area nonprofit organizations. Several of these nonprofits that operate in Campbell received generous donations.
Teen Challenge, a program that helps people of all ages redirect their lives away from abusive behavior, received $2,500. The nonprofit has a thrift shop located on Winchester Boulevard. Habitat for Humanity, which has built six low-income homes in Campbell, received $2,500.
The foundation is unique in the way it's funded. Every time a Windermere associate sells a home, a portion of the commission is donated directly to the Windermere Foundation. Additional contributions from Windermere agents, managers, owners and staff, as well as the general public, are also accepted. An entirely volunteer-run organization, it spends less than two percent of the funds it raises on administrative costs.
