Driving While Intoxicated—Feb. 5, 10:49 p.m. A 26-year-old man was involved in a hot-and-run accident on Hamilton and Leigh avenues. He was caught at Manchester and Sheffield avenues and found to be driving while intoxicated.
Theft—Feb. 5, 3:15 a.m. A man heard someone going through a toolbox in his truck, which was parked outside his residence on Redding Road. When he went outside to investigate, he noticed some of his tools were missing and that two men were getting into a nearby Chevrolet van. He followed the van to Hoffman Avenue and then called the police. The man recovered his tools and the police arrested a 33-year-old man for theft, who was identified as one of the individuals seen by the resident.
Theft—Feb. 4, 11:30 a.m. A 46-year-old man was caught shoplifting a drill from a home-improvement store on Hamilton Avenue.
Vandalism—Feb. 4. A person applied an unknown substance on cars parked on W. Hacienda Avenue, causing the paint to peel.
Burglary—Feb. 3, 8:30 a.m. An unknown person entered a business on S. Bascom Avenue and stole a laptop and other computer equipment.
Grand Theft—Feb. 1 Over the course of five days, an unknown person broke into four different cars parked in the carport of an apartment complex on Union Avenue. Various items including a box of knives, CDs, MP3 player and overhead projector were taken. The incidents occurred sometime between Jan 28 and Feb.1.
