Police Report
Theft--Jan. 27, 2:31 p.m. A 27-year-old man was caught shoplifting at an electronics store on Hamilton Avenue.
Vandalism--Jan. 27. An unknown person slashed all four tires on a Toyota Corolla parked on E. Latimer Avenue.
Burglary--Jan. 26, 12:45 a.m.-6:40 p.m. An unknown person smashed the window of a Suzuki parked on W. Hamilton Avenue and stole the college books inside.
Assault--Jan. 25, 7:15 p.m. A 29-year-old man assaulted a 25-year-old man with a wood club, causing minor injuries. The attacker fled the scene of the incident, which occurred on S. Winchester Boulevard. Four hours later a Campbell police officer located the man and his vehicle. He was arrested on assault charges.
Hit and Run--Jan. 25, 4:03 a.m. A 25-year-old man drove his 1997 Mercedes into the bushes near the PG&E substation on Creekside Way.
Burglary--Jan. 24, 4 p.m.-9 a.m. An unknown person broke into a pickup parked on S. Bascom Avenue and stole a GPS system, checkbook, wine rack and four cases of wine.
Fraud--Jan. 23, 11:56 p.m. The Campbell police stopped to speak with a 22-year-old woman outside a bar on W. Hamilton Avenue. She had outstanding warrants and was in possession of two stolen checks.
Theft--Jan. 23, 5 p.m. A 30-year-old woman concealed food and left a store on W. Hamilton Avenue. She was cited.
Vandalism--Jan. 23, 3:30 p.m. An unknown person spray-painted graffiti on the rear carports and Highway 17 soundwall off Ravenscourt Drive.
Commercial Theft--Jan. 22-23, 11 p.m.-4:45 p.m. An unknown person stole a water tank from the rear of a business on N. San Tomas Aquino Road.
Burglary--Jan. 22, 12:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m. An unknown person broke into a locked car parked on W. Hamilton Avenue and stole a purse, which contained identification and credit cards.
Stolen vehicle--Jan. 22, 1:30 a.m. A 38-year-old man ran out of gas next to the intersection of San Tomas Expressway and Campbell Avenue. He was contacted by police, who determined that the Jeep he was driving had been stolen five days ago.
