Veritas boys, girls win in basketball

Senior Chris Wallace tossed in 27 points and Garrison Hardie added 15 to lead the Veritas Christian Academy of Campbell boys basketball team to a 69-54 win over Community Christian of Pittsburg.
Gabriel Flores chipped in with 12 points, Alex Mankarios had eight, Adam Flores four and Aaron Flores two as the Lions improved to 1-3 in league play.
The same night, the Veritas girls basketball team posted its first win in school history with a 29-26 win over Community Christian. Gabie Marquez and Michelle Suy-Sam netted 11 points apiece to lead the Lions.
Lauren Wallace added 4 points, Rebecca Wintermute two and Selena Marquez one as the Lions improved to 1-2 for the season.
