    Kloes named to school board

The Fremont Union High School District Board of Trustees named Leslie Kloes as its administrator of the quarter on Nov. 21, 2000. The board made their decision because of Kloes's record of service as the district's human resources director. Associate Superintendent Mike Hawkes introduced Kloes by stating that, as HR director, she has the crucial job of selecting the nest employees for the district. Kloes began her work for the district as a teacher, then worked her way up to become HR director.

    CUSD to begin registering kindergartners

The Cupertino Union School District will begin to register kindergartners for the 2001-2002 school year on Feb. 5, 2001. Registration will continue through Feb. 16, 2001. District residents with children 5 years old on or before Dec. 2, 2001, may register at their neighborhood school during that time. Parents registering a child must provide verification of their child's date of birth (a birth certificate or a passport will suffice), their complete immunization records and proof of residence (such as a PG&E bill, or a rental/sales/lease agreement). Children must register at their neighborhood schools before requesting open enrollment. Open enrollment applications will take place from Feb. 12 to 16, at the school of desired attendance. For additional information, call the district's student assignment office at 408.252.3000, ext. 384
    or 382.
