When a tidal wave starts rolling, there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.

And area girls under-10 soccer teams certainly found that to be true this fall as the De Anza Tidal Waves rolled through an undefeated season.

The Tidal Waves roared through a perfect league season, won a Halloween tournament championship and capped the year with a title in the CYSA District 2 Cup tournament.

The De Anza girls rolled up 38 out of a possible 40 points to win the cup championship. The Almaden Express finished second with 24 points.

During the regular fall league season, the Tidal Waves were winners in all of their games, defeating teams from the Redwood League in the north and Santa Cruz, Mt. Hamilton, Almaden and Orchard Valley Leagues in the south. The Waves pounded the nets for 55 goals in the regular season, while holding opponents to just six goals.

Earlier in the year, the Tidal Waves posted a 4-0 record on their way to a championship in a Halloween tournament in the East Bay, playing against teams from Pleasanton, Piedmont and Berkeley.

Members of the Tidal Waves, coached by Steve LeFevre and Jim Davis, include Rosa Ahn, Gabriella Batmani, Kristin Bisely, Madeline Block, Leah Davis, Briana Imoto, Jennifer Kute, Heather LeFevre, Kasha Sang, Niamh Shalvey, Sarah Trankle, and Amanda Westwood.

Nine of the players attend either Lincoln, Regnart, Stevens Creek or Garden Gate in the Cupertino Union School District. The other three attend local private schools.
