    Little League Signups

    Local Little Leagues are currently holding registration for the upcoming baseball season. Players ages 5-12 are eligible, with divisions ranging from T-ball (for those youngsters who reach age 5 by July 31) to the major division (for those players not older than 12).

    Leagues in Cupertino and Sunnyvale also offer upper division age groups, including the junior division (13-14), senior division (15-16) and Big League (17-18). Girls softball is also offered by leagues in Cupertino and Sunnyvale.

    At registrations, players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, provide a birth certificate and reside within league boundaries. Proof of residency may be required.

    Local leagues holding signups this month include:

    Cupertino American Little League--Sign-ups for players to age 18 for baseball and softball will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Round Table Pizza Parlor, 6138 Bollinger Road. For more information, contact Cathy Souza (408.205.4329).

    Cupertino National Little League--Sign-ups for players to age 16 will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 7-9 p.m. at the Quinlan Center, and Saturday, Jan. 12, 9-11 a.m., at the Kennedy Junior High School snack shack. For more information, contact Jean Bedord (408.252.8708 or www.cnll.org).

    Serra Little League (includes southern Sunnyvale, northern Cupertino and southeastern Los Altos)--Sign-ups for players to age 16 will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Serra Park Rec Building, 730 The Dalles.     Tri-Cities Pacific Little League--Sign-ups for players to age 18 will be held for baseball and softball on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Hyde Middle School library, 19325 Bollinger Road.
