    Hiller Aviation Museum presents John F. Kinney

    General John F. Kinney, USMC and a Cupertino resident, will speak about his experience while he was stationed on Wake Island when, only hours after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese attempted an invasion of the island. Between the first attack and the fall of the island on Dec. 23rd the Americans inflicted heavy casualties on their Japanese attackers.

    Kinney will speak and sign copies of his book, Wake Island Pilot, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Road, San Carlos.

    Edward Jones set to host guest motivational speaker

    Edward Jones presents a special community service program Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. The speaker, Col. Edward Hubbard, author of Escape from the Box: The Wonder of Human Potential, will deliver a motivational message about changing one's attitude and discovering untapped potential. Col. Hubbard served in Vietnam and was a POW in North Vietnam for 2,420 days. He will share the lessons of survival he learned and how to apply those lessons to overcome obstacles and reach goals.

    The one-hour presentation is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. Call 408.973.0629 for reservations.
