Vallco presents the return of the farmes' market
The Vallco Certified Farmers' Market has returned for the winter season. Every Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. California producers bring fresh produce, including citrus fruit, a wide variety of apples and an abundance of winter vegetables, to the market. There will also be squash, broccoli, artichokes and fresh cut flowers.

Silk Road Flower Rains
The nonprofit organization Cirrus Dance and Arts presents performances on Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m., and Jan. 27 at 2 and 7 p.m., at San Jose Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater. The organization is dedicated to preserving, developing and celebrating Chinese artistic heritage and promoting the study and appreciation of other ethnic and cultural arts.
"Silk Road Flower Rains" is a dance dram that takes the audience back to ancient China to retrace the magnificent Silk Road, with its significant history of cultural, artistic, philosophical, commercial and religious exchanges between East and West. It will have many dazzling Chinese classical and folk dances.

Cupertino presents sister city program
The Cupertino Union School District will hold a mandatory informational meeting on Jan. 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for those interested in being an exchange student in Japan. Student delegates will be selected from middle schools in the school district, travel to Japan during the summer, live with host Japanese families and tour cultural sites and learn about Japanese life. In 1978 the cities of Cupertino and Toyokawa, Japan established a relationship as sister cities.

Catholic Women's Network holds a daylong program
The Catholic Women's Network in Santa Clara County presents a day-ong program, called "Healing with Sound and Prayer," on Jan. 26 from 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Women are invited to hear Tina Clare, spiritual healer and founder of Center of Light in Los Altos. The afternoon will focus on prayer for healing and will include a ritual of healing and anointing.
The fee is $30 or $15 for low-income participants. The program will be held in the community room of the Sunny View Retirement Community, 22445 Cupertino Road.
