Cupertino library to hold leadership seminar on Feb. 8
Insight College Prep Centers will hold a leadership workshop for high school students and parents on Feb. 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The goal of the workshop is to strengthen students' leadership skills through motivational lectures and skill-building activities and to help students understand the role of leadership in the college admissions process.
The workshop will be led by a team of Stanford graduates and will teach students how to become leaders in the classroom as well as how to take initiative to pursue extracurricular interests, such as starting clubs or joining community organizations.
The workshop is free and is for parents and high school students. It will be held in the community room in the Cupertino Library, 10400 Torre Ave., Cupertino. Call 408.252.5050 to register.
Monta Vista High to hold winter concert on Feb. 6
The Monta Vista High school winter concert will be held on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Monta Vista High School gym. The Monta Vista High School Choirs and Symphony Orchestra will be performing, and featured works include "Gloria" by John Rutter, performed by the Choirs and Symphony Orchestra and "St. Paul Suite" by Gustav Holst, performed by the String Orchestra.
The event is a music department fundraising event and there will be a $5 admission fee. For more information, call 408.873.8795.
