Monthly social and birthday party
Seniors are invited to a social and birthday party Monday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m at the Cupertino Senior Center, 10185 North Stelling Road. Entertainment will be provided by the Denton Brothers Gospel Group, and people with February birthdays will be honored. A donation of $1 is asked in order to cover expenses.

Valentine party slated
Hearts, flowers, drama and comedy are the themes of the day at the upcoming Cupertino Senior Center Valentine's Day party, Monday, Feb. 14. 1 p.m. at the center. The center's Theatre Arts class will present scenes from The Miser, On Golden Pond, Moon Over Buffalo and Mixed Emotions. For more information, contact the center at 408.777.3150.
Georgia O'Keefe slide show scheduled
A docent from the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco will present a slide show entitled "The Poetry of Things," Monday, Feb. 28, 1 p.m. at the Cupertino Senior Center. The free show is made possible in conjunction with the O'Keefe exhibit in San Francisco.
Coffee planned for newcomers
The Cupertino Senior Center's Volunteer Advisory Council will host a Newcomers, Coffee Thursday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Senior Center Lobby of the Quinlan Community Center. The event is an informal time for people to learn more about the center and get acquainted with other center members. A tour of the Community Center and news about planned expansions are included.

Memory and aging lecture scheduled
Patrick Fitzsimmons, M.D. will discuss the normal changes of memory and intellect with aging Wednesday, Feb. 16, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cupertino Senior Center. Fitzsimmons will describe dementia and discuss normal changes in memory. The is no fee, but pre-registration is requested.

Good Samaritan Hospital welcomes Senior Friends
Columbia Good Samaritan Hospital encourages all interested local senior citizens to join its chapter of the National Association of Senior Friends, a nonprofit hospital-based health and wellness program open to anyone 50 and older.
The seniors in Good Samaritan's growing group take part in numerous filled with activities, outings and informational programs.
The Healthy Heart event on Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Good Sam auditorium features presentations on heart health, nutrition, exercise and stress management. Free samples and heart-healthy refreshments will be served. Blood pressure testing will also be available.
