Obituary
Edward L.K. Gomez
Brother Edward L.K. Gomez died Jan. 21.
He was born Jan. 2, 1938, to the late Edward Edwin Gomez and Ethel Akyau of Honolulu, Hawaii. After graduating from St. Louis School on Oahu, Edward answered the call to religious life by following in the footsteps of his teachers and entered the novitiate of the Society of Mary in Santa Cruz in 1956. From 1962 to 1968 he taught at his Alma Mater, St. Louis School in Honolulu. He pursued further studies during the years 1967-'68 at New Haven, MO, as well as in San Francisco and Alameda. From 1973 to 1975 he resided in Hawaii, where he was the principal of St. Anthony's School and the director of the Marianist community. After his term on Maui, he became responsible for education for the entire Marianist Province of the Pacific and from 1975 to 1982 he worked out of the province headquarters, located in Cupertino, until his next assignment, when he was once again back in Honolulu to be the Principal of St. Louis School from 1982 to 1985.
He is survived by his sister, Bibiana Flazer of Honolulu, Hawaii.
