    Sheriff's Report

    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Lodging without permission--Jan. 28, 3:15 p.m. 10200 block of N. Stelling Road. Someone had been living in an empty house for about five weeks without permission and cut up some of the carpet in a bedroom. There are no suspects.

    Petty theft--Jan. 28, 1:50 p.m., Carl's Jr., 20680 Homestead Road. An unknown suspect took a fire extinguisher from a wall mount and discharged it into the parking lot. There were no witnesses.

    Burglary--Jan. 27, 5 p.m., 10500 block of N. Foothill Blvd. Someone took a set of women's golf clubs (valued at $300) from a car parked in a garage sometime between Jan. 23 and 26.

    Stolen vehicle--Jan. 31, 10:20 p.m. A car that had been reported as abandoned, had really been stolen out of Mountain View as revealed by a computer check. One witness said he'd seen a white male adult entering and exiting the '89 Mercury Sable at various times over the last two weeks.
