    Sheriff's Report


    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.

    Auto Burglary--Jan. 24, 4:25 p.m., Vallco Fashion Park. A 1989 Toyota Corolla was parked on the west side of Vallco Fashion Park. The doors were locked and the driver's side window was smashed. A cellular telephone was taken.

    Petty Theft--Jan. 23, 12:21 p.m., Sears. The suspect removed clothing from Sears and exited the east doors. Sears security officers caught up with the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect dropped the clothing and fled on foot. Via their radio to telephone, the security officers provided sheriffs with the suspect's description and direction of travel. He was apprehended approximately 1.5 miles away at the Wolfe Road and Freeway 280 overpass.

    Commercial Burglary--Jan. 21, 5:30 p.m., JC Penney. The reporting party said he observed the suspect remove the original price tags from items and replaced them with price tags of a lesser amount. He said the suspect got the lesser price tags from items in the store. The reporting party said the suspect walked out of the store without paying the actual price of the items.

    Commercial Burglary--Jan. 12, 10:35 a.m., Compaq Computers. A suspect pried open a can-lock on a 40-foot trailer box, made entry and removed computer items. It's unknown what items were taken until the company takes inventory.
