Library group will discuss Internet

Internet access is one of the topics on the agenda for next week's meeting of the Santa Clara County Library Joint Powers Authority (JPA) board.

Last month the board appointed Cupertino's representative, Councilman John Statton, to the Internet access committee. An update on the committee's progress will be discussed at the Feb. meeting.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Quinlan Community Center, 10185 N. Stelling Rd.

Iranian women's group set to host a fundraiser gala

The Iranian Federated Women's Club is hosting the 1998 Iranian-American Scholarship Fundraising Gala on Feb. 28 in Cupertino.

The Gala begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner, music and a fashion show.

Proceeds from the dinner will help establish the Iranian-American Scholarship Educational Fund for outstanding students. The fund will also provide money for English-as-a-second-language students.

Tickets cost $100 per person. The event will be held at the Quinlan Community Center, 10185 N. Stelling Rd. For More information call 381-4268 or 781-5675.
