    Euphrat Museum presents a new California exhibition

    Euphrat Museum of Art presents an exhibit titled "Magician's Day Off and Other Stories" from Feb. 26 through April 18. The exhibit presents narrative art by a selection of contemporary artists in California, working in a variety of media, such as painting, photography, sculpture, quilts, printmaking, jewelry and mixed media.

    The artists featured are Pilar Aguero, Doris Bittar, Lydia Tjioe, Ricardo Gil, Paul Pratchenko, Joan Schulze, Linda Watson and Christine Wong.

    The museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday evening 6 p.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The museum is located on the campus of De Anza College. For more information, call 408.864.8836.

    Career center to hold job workshops Feb. 25-27

    The Career Action Center will host a workshop on Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. called "Changing Perspectives--From Disappointment and Loss to Opportunity Gain." It is for those who are in the middle of a career transition and are looking for a workshop that will energize, inspire and attract them to their next opportunity.

    On Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. is a workshop called "Take Charge of Your Money," which teaches about financial security and securing retirement. On Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. is "Pick up That Phone," a workshop that teaches skills in using the phone during a job search. It teaches how to prepare, make and follow up phone calls.

    Dimension Performing Arts presents 'Rashomon'

    Dimension Performing Arts presents Rashomon--The Show on March 1 at 8 p.m. at the Flint Center, 21250 Stevens Creek Boulevard. The show is funded in part by the city of San Jose Arts Grant and the Silicon Valley Arts Council Community Fund Grant.

    Rashomon is based on an internationally renowned Japanese drama, presented since the 1920s through literature, film, dance, opera and now Chinese Peking Opera. It is a whodunit story with only three witnesses: A deceased man through a medium, a woman and a bandit in a bamboo forest crime scene.
