Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Vandalism--Jan. 27, 1:55 p.m., 20000 block of Park Circle East. The victim's car was parked in an apartment complex parking lot overnight. The next morning the victim discovered that someone had put several scratches on the driver's side of the vehicle.
Stolen Vehicle--Jan. 29, 11:05 p.m., 10000 block of Bubb Road. The victim parked his work van in front of a business for which he was cleaning carpets. At 11 p.m., he went outside for some tools and noticed that the vehicle was missing and reported it stolen. The suspects are unknown and at large.
Residential Burglary--Jan. 29, 7:15 p.m., 10000 block of Miner Place. When the victims returned home from work, they found their 1993 Mercedes missing from a locked garage. When they entered their home they discovered it had been burglarized. Various items of jewelry, $850 in cash, a 12-gauge shotgun, DVD movies and player, luggage and a remote control car were taken.
Petty Theft--Jan. 29, 4:15 p.m., 22000 block of Alcade Road. An unknown suspect stole one hubcap from each of the victim's cars, which were parked in the street in front of the residence. The victims are of Middle Eastern descent and have lived in the neighborhood for 13 years. They have had no past problems and do not think the theft was committed due to their race and religion. Total loss was estimated at $150.
Grand Theft--Jan. 30, 7:30 p.m., 20000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The victim last saw his locked bicycle parked in a bike rack located in an underground garage of an apartment complex. The value of the loss was listed at $691.
Vandalism--Jan. 30, 10 a.m., 19000 block of Tilson Avenue. The victim had parked his car in the driveway of his residence. The following morning he discovered the two left tires had been punctured. No suspects or witnesses were identified.
Recovery--Jan. 31, 2:20 a.m., 10000 block of N. Wolfe Road. As a deputy was driving through a local mall parking garage, he found a Chevrolet Camaro parked alone in the structure. The vehicle was dusty and it appeared that it had not been moved for several days. After running a vehicle check, the sheriff discovered it had been stolen from the city of Campbell. The car was locked and the alarm was set.
Attempted Burglary--Feb. 2, 11:55 a.m., 19000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The employees of a bank noticed that a window adjacent to two ATMs was scratched and cracked. It appeared as though the suspect had tried to gain entry to the ATMs by breaking the window with a vehicle, due to tire skid marks near the area.
