    Sheriff's Report

    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Peeping and Prowling--Feb. 10, 11 p.m., 20000 block of Valley Green Drive. The victim and two daughters were in the rear bedroom of their apartment just before 11 p.m. when there was a knock at the door. A person identifying himself as "John" told the victims that he saw someone looking into their bedroom window and he had chased him away. The victims had not heard or seen anything and "John" was located, but did not want to identify himself and was evasive.

    Burglary--Grand Theft--Feb. 10, 2:20 a.m., 10000 block of N. De Anza Boulevard. The unknown suspect(s) pried open the front door of a local computer store and took four Apple 22" Cinema Displays. The suspect(s) fled, leaving the pry bar behind at the scene. The total value of the loss was $10,000.

    Residential Burglary--Feb. 9, 9 p.m., 19000 block of LaMar Drive. While a family was attending church, someone entered the backyard, removed a screen from a bathroom window and entered the residence. The master bedroom was ransacked and jewelry was taken.

    Embezzlement-Burglary--Feb. 8, 9:15 p.m., 10000 block of N. Wolfe Road. Between Dec. 16 and Feb. 8, a local department store salesperson processed about $2,751 in fictitious cash refunds to himself while on the selling floor. The suspect admitted doing this because he was $4,000 in debt to his parents for two car loans. The suspect, a juvenile, was issued a citation and released to his parents.

    Burglary--Feb. 6, 1:50 p.m., 20000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. Security personnel saw a suspect conceal 10 DVDs inside a backpack at a local department store, then walk out of the store without paying for them.

    Petty Theft--Feb. 4, 7:50 p.m., 20000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The suspect was shopping in a local grocery store and selected several food and kitchenware items. The suspect exited the store without paying for them and was detained and placed under citizen's arrest. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.

    Residential Burglary--Feb. 7, 3:45 p.m., 7000 block of Berland Court. Thuspect pulled off window screens to check for open windows. Once inside, suspect took computers, video games, jewelry, a video cassette recorder and a cable box.

     

    Residential Burglary--Feb. 8, 3:15 p.m., 22000 block of Santa Paula. An unknown suspect entered a residence using a hidden key. It appeared the suspect knew the location of all the handguns hidden in four different locations throughout the house. The suspect took two shotguns, a rifle, and a revolver, none of which were registered and the serial numbers are unknown.
