    Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Felony evading--Feb. 18, 10:10 p.m. Deputies tried to pull over a car for an illegal U-turn on Stevens Creek Boulevard at Bollinger Road. The driver refused to yield to the lights and siren. The pursuit ended about two miles away on Flower Court, when the suspect crashed his car into the front yard of a house there and took off running. Other deputies responded and sealed off the area, but the suspect wasn't found. A search of the car turned up methamphetamine.

Violation of court order--Feb. 19, 4:45 p.m. Deputies found a man in violation of city code and a Jan. 31 court order issued as part of a plea bargain that restricted him from having dogs at his house.

Residential burglary--Feb. 20, 10:25 p.m., 10100 block of S. Tantau Ave. A passport and more than $1,000 worth of gold necklaces were stolen from a home during the afternoon or evening. The suspects entered the home through a rear window that was open and could be opened from the exterior.

Grand theft--Feb. 21, 1 p.m. During the previous day or two, someone stole about $900 worth of property, including a cell phone, jacket and $300 in cash, from an unlocked vehicle.

Residential burglary--Feb. 21, 10:30 p.m., 10800 block of Leavesley Place. During the day, someone broke into a home by forcing a door jam inside the garage area. A pair of pearl earrings and a bracelet, valued at $575, were reported stolen.

Possession of stolen property--Feb. 22, 2:52 a.m., Homestead Road at Langport Drive. A deputy stopped a 1986 ford for speeding and a broken taillight. The driver gave permission for a search, which turned up a Menlo Park man's wallet that was reported stolen in January. Also found in the car were credit cards stolen from two other people, three walkie-talkies, bolt cutters, a screwdriver, a crow bar and a mask. The driver also had a mask, gloves and a screwdriver in his pockets.
