No clear victor in District 5 Supervisor race





    Sheriff's Report


    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Evading--Feb. 23, 12:57 a.m., South De Anza Boulevard at Homestead Road. A deputy initiated a stop on a 1985 Ford for speeding and the driver sped away. The deputy pursued the car, which spun out on Iowa Avenue in Sunnyvale. The driver fled the scene and wasn't found.

    Possession of heroin and cocaine--Feb. 23, 1:59 a.m., Bollinger Road at South De Anza Boulevard. The driver of a vehicle stopped for a broken headlight displayed symptoms of drug intoxication. The subject said he had a small amount of marijuana and an open container in the car. He consented to a search of his car, during which deputies found heroin, cocaine, a syringe filled with heroin, other syringes, a spoon and an injection kit. The driver was arrested and booked on drug charges.
